These are just a few panels from a 24-page illustrated introduction to mammograms. This four-language booklet (written in English, Punjabi, Korean, and Traditional Chinese) was targeted at immigrant Canadian women over 50, to help mitigate the stigma associated with mammograms and breast exams. The booklet’s soft colours establish a friendly, easy mood, as we follow the main character through the basic steps of a typical breast exam. The agency has reported back to say the booklet far exceeded their expectations in the field, setting new records for breast examinations among their target audience.
